The work will support the holistic healing of some of the 2.5 to 3 million US farmworkers who have experienced decades of traumatizing working conditions, economic insecurity and vulnerability, all of which were exacerbated by COVID-19. \u201cHealing Voices\u201d brings together farmworkers in virtual support groups to heal, build agency, and mobilize workers, while ensuring ease of access and their physical safety.<\/p>\n<p>This event is sponsored by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hrc.toledo.oh.gov\/\">The City of Toledo Human Relations Commission<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.toledolibrary.org\/newamerican\">Welcome TLC<\/a>\u00a0as part of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.toledolibrary.org\/bettertoledo\">Better Toledo<\/a>, a personal and professional development series to ensure \u201cyou will do better in Toledo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Certificates of completion are available to participants who take part in three or more sessions in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>For group registrations please call 419-259-5293.<\/p>\n<p>M\u00f3nica Ram\u00edrez is an attorney, author, and activist fighting for the rights of farmworkers, migrant women workers, and the Latine(x) community. She is the founder of Justice for Migrant Women and co-founder of Alianza Nacional de Campesinas, The Latinx House, and Poderistas. M\u00f3nica has received numerous awards, including Harvard Kennedy School\u2019s first Gender Equity Changemaker Award, Feminist Majority\u2019s Global Women\u2019s Rights Award, the Smithsonian\u2019s 2018 Ingenuity Award and the Hispanic Heritage Award. M\u00f3nica was named to Forbes Mexico\u2019s 100 Most Powerful Women\u2019s 2018 list, TIME Magazine included her in its 2021 TIME100 Next list and People en Espa\u00f1ol recognized her as one of the 100 Most Powerful Latinos in 2021. M\u00f3nica is also an inaugural member of the Ford Global Fellowship. She serves on the Board of Directors of the National Women\u2019s Law Center, Friends of the Latino Museum, Care in Action and she is a member of The Little Market\u2019s Activists Committee. M\u00f3nica is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago, The Ohio State University&#8217;s Moritz College of Law and Harvard Kennedy School.
